Foundations

Help a Child has identified Early Childhood Development, Child Protection and Parenting as sectors in which we primarily aim to demonstrate our added value. Together with foundations, we have been able to demonstrate both the relevance of and our quality in these areas.

With a long track record in a variety of contexts and areas. We have developed extensive experience and a proven track record in Early Childhood Development, (Child) protection, Food Security & Livelihoods and parenting. We are an adaptive and innovative organisation that meets the challenges that children are facing. Consequently, we have also successfully implemented projects related to SGBV, MHPSS, education in emergencies, community empowerment and PIP.

We can seek for a great collaboration in the themes of ECD, parenting, child protection, SGBV, MHPSS, education in emergencies, community empowerment and PIP.

All our activities are aimed at creating lasting and sustainable changes in the communities that we work. By including and consulting with local partners and members of the community from an early stage of projects, we create local ownership and impact that stays long after we have left.

Partnering for impact

Foundations are at the heart of our work, helping us create lasting change for children worldwide. Together with the annual income of € 1,742,800 from non-profit organisations, we’ve been able to support 60,275 young children in development programmes and 346,497 children in disaster response efforts in 2023. Together, we’ve strengthened 456 Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers, ensuring a brighter future for countless children.

Our impact for children in need wouldn’t be possible without the support of our loyal supporters. Together with Dutch and International foundations, we have been able to implement projects for children in conflict, crisis and hard-to-reach areas.

In 2025, we were able to bring assistance to 496.253 children in eight countries. With interventions ranging from education to creating economic empowerment for parents. All our activities place children at the centre.

Thanks to foundations, we

  • Provide safe spaces for children in South Sudan, who were affected by trauma.
  • Scale up a successful parenting programme in Malawi, giving families the tools to support their children’s development.
  • Build water infrastructure in areas in Kenya that were struggling with drought and climate change, ensuring that children have everything they need to go to school
