Early Childhood Development

Help a Child India invests in the early years of childhood, helping young children from vulnerable communities get the best possible start in life.

76 ECD centres supported in 2025
1,849 children supported in ECD centres in 2025

Through community-based ECD centres, we support access to early learning, play and care, while strengthening the skills of caregivers and encouraging parents to take an active role in their children's development.

Our innovative Green ECD initiative also connects Early Childhood Development with environmental awareness, helping create healthier, greener and more child-friendly learning environments.

Help a Child India takes a community-driven approach to helping children learn, develop and reach their full potential. Alongside early childhood development, its programmes promote child leadership, participation, protection and inclusion.

Through Child-Friendly Spaces, children can access safe environments to learn, play and interact with others, including in challenging circumstances.

By working with parents, community groups and local partners, Help a Child strengthens the support systems around children and helps build opportunities for them to grow into confident, active and engaged members of their communities.
