What we do

Help a Child's work in Somalia includes Health & Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Protection and Food Security & Livelihoods (FSL).

Key areas of intervention

Examples of activities include identifying and supporting children suffering from malnutrition, raising awareness of maternal and child health, promoting safe water handling and hygiene practices, and supporting Child-Friendly Spaces where children can play and interact in a safe environment. We also work to address protection risks, including sexual and gender-based violence, and strengthen community knowledge through initiatives such as Care Groups, in which women share information about health, nutrition and hygiene with other families.

Through these integrated efforts, Help a Child contributes to improving children's well-being and helping vulnerable families build a safer and more resilient future.
