Food Security & Livelihoods

Help a Child Rwanda supports parents in building sustainable livelihoods so they can provide nutritious food and meet their children's basic needs.

551 Self-Help groups supported in 2025

Through Participatory Integrated Planning (PIP) and climate-resilient farming practices, families are encouraged to improve agricultural production, diversify their crops and develop a shared vision for the future. By strengthening food security and promoting sustainable land management, Help a Child Rwanda helps families become more self-reliant and create a healthier environment in which their children can thrive.

Strengthening resilience

Help a Child Rwanda strengthens families' financial resilience through Self-Help Groups (SHGs), savings and income-generating activities. Parents are encouraged to improve their access to finance, diversify household income and plan for future needs.

At community level, we promote collective action, community empowerment and disaster risk reduction. By combining economic resilience with climate change adaptation and sustainable farming, we help families better withstand environmental and economic shocks and provide a more stable future for their children.
