Parenting

Help a Child Rwanda empowers parents and caregivers to provide young children with the loving care, protection and stimulation they need to thrive.

481 Parenting Groups supported in 2025

Through parenting education and group-based support, parents strengthen their knowledge, skills and confidence in raising their children. They learn the importance of responsive caregiving, positive parenting, early childhood development and creating a safe and nurturing home environment where children feel loved, listened to and supported.

Supporting parents and families

Through Turakura Kids Rwanda, Help a Child combines parenting support with community engagement and strengthened family livelihoods. Parents are encouraged to spend time talking and listening to their children, support their early learning and ensure their basic needs are met. Self-Help Groups provide opportunities for parents to learn together, support one another, save money and improve household food security. By connecting positive parenting with practical support for families, Help a Child helps create stronger, more supportive environments in which young children can grow, learn and reach their full potential.
