Community Empowerment

Help a Child Burundi empowers vulnerable communities to move beyond humanitarian assistance towards greater self-reliance and economic resilience.

In collaboration with partners such as WFP, the World Bank and IOM, we support internally displaced people, refugees, returnees and vulnerable households through cash and food assistance, livelihood support and community reintegration programmes.

Alongside immediate relief, we invest in sustainable opportunities through financial literacy, entrepreneurship training, climate-smart agriculture and vocational skills development. We also support community-led initiatives that rehabilitate local infrastructure, strengthen livelihoods and create opportunities for economic recovery.

Resilience and inclusivity

Our approach combines transparent and inclusive assistance with community participation, accountability and data-informed programming. By connecting humanitarian relief with long-term economic opportunities, Help a Child Burundi helps communities withstand shocks, strengthen local economies and reduce long-term dependency on aid, while contributing to more resilient and inclusive social protection systems.
